ELONtech is a nonprofit initiative of Law and IT professionals and researchers who explore the need for better understanding and monitoring of the developments on the new technologies and the related EU regulation

The Observatory focuses on the interrelation of Law and Technology, the regulatory process of EU, the ethics and legitimacy in research, the limits in innovation and the disruption of Justice. The Members and Advisors of the ELONtech are scientists, professionals, academics, and opinion leaders who actively engage wand explore the challenges that arise in law and innovation.

ELONtech starts its journey with a 2-days events that highlight the most crucial topics: DLT and Blockchain, Crowdfuning, AI, GDPR, etc.  If you wish to join the events , please read below.  

1) Friday 1st June 2018, 4-8pm, at PROMITHEUS Mediation Center of Athens Bar Association, 18th Feidiou Str.

A Seminar on Blockchain and Crowdfuning: introduction, regulation and best practices , with Vikram Nagrani* (Partner, Hassans International Law Firm,  Barrister and Notary Public of Gibraltar). The opening of the seminar is an introductory discussion with Mantalena Kaili and Alexandros Spyridonos (ELONtech founding members) , Harry Kalogirou (Ebacus) and George Moraitakis  and Christos Nevsehirioglou (Nuntius).

*Vikram is a Partner in Hassans’ Corporate and Commercial department and co-leads the firm’s FinTech Team. Vikram acts on initial coin offerings/token sales and other distributed ledger technology matters, including licence applications under Gibraltar’s DLT Providers Regulations. 

Vikram has also been deeply involved in assisting the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission with the drafting of some of the Guidance Notes to Gibraltar’s DLT Providers Regulations and with shaping the DLT and ICO Regulatory Framework in Gibraltar. He is also contributing to the EU Commission’s Blockchain Observatory and Forum.

The Inauguration Event of the European Law Observatory on New Technologies (ELONtech), by the founding Members and Honorary Advisors. With the online contribution of the partners and Liaisons of ELONtech from abroad, from other EU and non EU countries.

Session A. Do disruptive new technologies reveal the need for better regulation and more efficient institutions? Session B. How do we encourage women to educate, train, invest, and use the new technologies. Best practices.
