Hilton Announces Construction of Three Hotels in Argentina

UK-based global hotel chain Hilton has announced the construction of three new hotels in Argentina, it was reported on April 20, 2005.

Hilton has at present only one hotel in Argentina, in Buenos Aires, which was built five years ago.

Hilton plans to build its second hotel in Ushuaia, southern Argentina, with an investment of $13 mln (9.925 mln euro). The third and fourth hotel are planned to be erected in Puerto Iguazu, on the border with Brazil and Paraguay, and in Mendoza, western Argentina, according to Hilton.

The hotel in Ushuaia is planned to open doors in late 2006 or early 2007.
Investments in the construction of the hotel will be made by an Argentine company, Yowen, but later the construction will be managed by Hilton. The hotel in Ushuaia will have 150 rooms, Hilton said.

Investments in the hotel in Puerto Iguazu are expected at $15 mln (11.45 mln euro). Investments for the construction of the hotel in Mendoza were not quoted.
