30 June & 1 July 2010 at TOUR & TAXIS, Brussels

The European Business Summit (EBS) is organised by BUSINESSEUROPE and the Federation of Enterprises in Belgium, in close cooperation with the European Commission and the EU Presidency. After seven editions the EBS has truly become Europe’s number one dialogue between business leaders and policy makers.

With the theme “Putting Europe back on Europe”, the 2010 EBS will be a special one. First of all the event moves to June/July to match the transfer of the Spanish to the Belgian EU Presidency. In the presence of officials of both countries, the 8th EBS will mark the closing day of the Spanish Presidency as well as the opening day of the Belgian Presidency. During the festive Gala Dinner the best of both countries in the areas of gastronomy, fashion and culture will be highlighted.

2010 is also a special year because of the many changes Europe will be facing. It is the start of a new decade and the first EBS after the new European Parliament, the new Commission and the Lisbon Treaty. Besides - as we strongly hope - it can well be the first post-crisis Summit, now the global economy shows first signs of recovery after the fiercest economic crisis of the last eighty years. Therefore, this 2010 EBS will concentrate on how to put Europe back on track.

We are looking forward to meeting you on Wednesday 30 June & Thursday 1 July 2010 at TOUR & TAXIS in Brussels, Capital of Europe!

China stood around 600 last year, but according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), China could have nearly as many intercontinental ballistic missiles as Russia and the US by 2030.

Current rules state that new vehicles sold from that date should be "zero emission", but carmakers, particularly in Germany, have lobbied heavily for concessions.
