Nikiforos Diamandouros (Greece) was re-elected European Ombudsman . Mr Diamandouros, who has held the position since 2003, was backed by 340 MEPs in a secret plenary vote. The European Ombudsman investigates citizens' complaints of maladministration by EU institutions.
